It's about time I wrote some of this down!

A lot of my friends have blogs about their lives and their children. I've decided to quit being a slacker and join the fun!

It's hard to believe that Rachel will be 1.5 years old tomorrow. My goal of having her off of the bottle by then is actually looking semi-achievable! After Rosh Hashanah services on Wednesday, we went out for lunch. When Rachel's milk arrived it was in a little cup with a lid and straw. I was feeling lazy, so I handed it to her and said "This is your milk." She actually drank it! Well, to be accurate, she spilled most of it down her dress since the cup wasn't spillproof and she drank whatever she didn't spill. Since then she's had both cups and bottles of milk. She still prefers the bottle, but at least she's not refusing the cup and straw.

This morning we went grocery shopping. Rachel has started referring to herself as "Ra-Eve" since apparently Rachel Eve is too hard to say. We were driving home when I heard from the backseat, "Ra-Eve! DON'T hang up!" Rachel likes to talk on the phone to her relatives. She also likes to press the buttons, so she often hears us telling her not to hang up!

Another new (and not welcome!) development is the utter and complete lack of napping going on around here. As I type, Rachel is in her crib where I can hear her loudly "grr-ing" at her bear. Yesterday she crashed for a 1.5 hr nap at 4:30. Of course then she was up at 6:30 this morning. I almost think it would be better if she didn't nap at all and she just slept longer at night! Hmm...
