...the pumpkin pie I baked this afternoon would be infinitely better if I had remembered to put the sugar in it.

I just hope you didn't do it the hard way and cut up and scrape out the insides of a huge pumpkin, which the last time I did that, took about 2 long hard hours before you even get enough stuff for one pie. Hopefully you just bought the ready made pumpkin smush before ruining it by forgetting the sugar.
I used canned pumpkin, but I'd made a special trip to go get the requisite can of evaporated milk. Oops. I tried eating it with lots of whipped cream but it was still too bitter for my liking!
